When I was a child my grand father gave me my very first cooking lessons. With patience, he taught me how to cook amazing meals out of very inexpensive ingredients. Coming from a traditional Southern background, my grandfather
loved to cook and prepare large meals for the family, the neighborhood, and really anyone else who stopped by his home. Watching him express his passion for good food
and hospitality, I first began to develop a love for cooking.
Having the unique privilege of being a part of a family with both Southern and French roots, growing up, I also had the opportunity to learn cooking skills from my family members who live in France. As a child on family vacations to France,
I would look forward to my grandmother sending me to the baker and butcher daily to buy fresh foods that she would be preparing that evening. Still today, the smell of fresh made croissants reminds me of those wonderful mornings in France.
These rich culinary experiences as a child propelled me toward a career in cooking. Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to work in many different areas including: French cuisine, bakery, and fine dining. One of the fine dining establishments where I have had the privilege to work is located in the exclusive Rancho Bernardo Inn , rated the best restaurant in San Diego for the past five years.
In addition, I have received my Associate of Arts Degree from the world renowned Le Cordon Bleu, California School of Culinary Arts. While attending the school, my instructors, many of which were personal chefs, inspired me to be creative with food and helped give me the desire to open my own business as a personal chef.
As a personal chef, I have extensive training in food handling, health and nutrition. I have experience preparing food for people with specific dietary needs relating to diabetes, high blood pressure, weight loss, and lowering cholesterol.
My main aspiration is to help people customize meals so that they can achieve their desired weight. Specifically, I specialize in figuring out how many calories a person needs to consume per day in order to loose weight or maintain their weight.
Finally, I am also a proud member of the American Personal Chef Association.
